Mandatory as per regulations, you can not buy an Archery Club membership WITHOUT:

  • Team Surrey Club Membership (£50)

This allows you to: 

  • Attend club sessions 

  • Attend advertised PlaySport sessions

This contributes to: 

  • Providing a training venue 

  • Personal injury insurance

  • Coaching hours 

  • Competition officiating fees 

  • Competition entry fees and affiliations (*some competitions are excluded)

  • help with buying/setting up your own bow when / if you decide to get one

MEMBERS' CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. Adhere to Archery GB rules and regulations

  2. Adhere to all club safety instructions and safety procedures

  3. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow archers 

  4. Speak to fellow archers, coaches, judges and officials with respect

  5. BEFORE being allowed to shoot: all members must have passed a beginners course if new to archery OR a safety check in care of experienced new members

  6. Members should immediately notify the session supervisor if any of the equipment is found to be faulty and should not be used until repair or further notice

  7. Members must react immediately to any safety signals given (i.e. sharp whistle to stop shooting immediately) of if "FAST" command is given by anyone present 

  8. At every club session in order to shoot, there must be at least one session supervisor (designated by the club's committee) + at least one other club member present 

9.  Appropriate closed toe footwear to be worn to

     all sessions

10. Members should make the session supervisor

     and committee aware of any prevailing medical

     conditions that may affect their ability to shoot

11.  Bows must always be pointed down range

     when being drawn up and an arrow must never

     be placed on the bow unless stood on the

     shooting line and only after "CLEAR" or free-to-

     shoot signal is given

12. Bows must always be shot in the correct and 

     safe manner - archers found to be shooting in

     an unsafe manner may be prohibited

     from shooting without notice

13.Own equipment brought to session must be 

    checked and approved by a signatory

    committee member, club armourer or 

    club coach prior to being shot for the first time 

14. Crossbows, warbows, broadheads and

    bows over 60 lbs draw weight are not

    permitted to be shot at any club sessions

BY JOINING THE CLUB AT ANY POINT, YOU AGREE TO THE CODE OF CONDUCT

AS PER POINT 5 IN THE CODE OF CONDUCT, ONLY PAYING THE MEMBERSHIP DOES NOT

ENTITLE YOU TO SHOOT WITH US AND BE A PART OF THE CLUB 

ANY BREACH OF CONDUCT WILL BE LOOKED UPON SERIOUSLY AND MAY RESULT  IN A

VERBAL OR WRITTEN WARNING OR EVEN EXPULSION FROM THE CLUB!

  • Team Surrey Archery is committed to protecting personal data gained through the membership process, therefore only committee members will have access to the information shared.

  • Once club membership is paid, you will automatically be added to a MS Teams group as per Student's Union regulations

  • When you become a member of or renew your membership with Team Surrey Archery you will automatically be registered as a member of Archery GB and the relevant County and Region. We will provide Archery GB with your personal data which they will use to enable access to an online portal for you (https://agb.sport80.com) which, amongst other things, allows you to set and amend your privacy settings. If you have any questions about the continuing privacy of your personal data when it is shared with Archery GB, please contact gdpr@archerygb.org.
